DiscoverIt! JUST THE BASICS
Join Jo Flick for this introduction to the new search tool that gathers information from the EBSCO databases, Montana Shared Catalog, the catalogs of the large public libraries across Montana, the Montana Memory Project and much, much, more. Learn how to navigate through this powerful tool and quickly drill down to useful results. Learn how to organize and save resources, print, and get citations. This is a very basic introduction conducted with a small group and NOT RECORDED. The training will be offered again in the upcoming months.

DiscoverIt! MORE PRACTICE SEARCHING
Join Jo Flick in a small online class to get more practice searching using the DiscoverIt! search tool. Participants get hands-on in this session, offering tips and exploring in greater detail how to deftly manage a search. Plan to attend if you have already attended a JUST THE BASICS training or you have some experience using DiscoverIt!
This session will not be recorded so that the participants can be assured a secure and protected learning environment. But, additional practice sessions will be scheduled in the upcoming months.

The Montana Field Guide
Join Jo Flick for an introduction to the Montana Field Guide – the online resource for information about the identification, habitat, ecology, reproduction, range, and distribution of Montana’s animals. The Montana Field Guide is a collaborative effort between the Montana Natural Heritage Program of the Montana State Library and Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks.
Learn how to use this resource at the reference desk and how to train patrons to use it. Participants will receive all the tools they need to provide a 1/2 hr introductory training to youth or adults in their community.

Summer Library Program Share-a-thon
Join this session to learn from your peers, and share what you are learning as you head into the middle of your summer library program. Pick up a great tip for a brilliant activity, find that perfect book for a challenging patron, learn about a marvelous new online resource to tap. This session is planned entirely for librarians to gather together and do what librarians do best – share!
Plan to bring along at least one activity plan, program idea, book recommendation, or a resource to share. A resource could be a terrific presenter you found or an website or video – just about anything.
